Week at a Glace

Below are some announcements and reminders for the upcoming week.

We enjoyed meeting with all of you and sharing the amazing work your children are doing this year! All of the students should feel proud and you should be proud of them.

This Week’s Learning Focus:
Reading: We will continue to meet in guided reading groups. As a whole class, we will be looking at story structure.

Writing: Students will continue writing narratives. They will be using their checklists and goals to focus on individual skills.

Spelling: A new sort is coming home this week. Remember to ask your child about the patterns of the sort rather than simply memorizing the list of words. Spelling homework should be completed in the spelling notebooks.  

Math: We will be working on addition and subtraction.

Social Studies: Students will review their maps and evaluate their work with a rubric. We will now begin talking about community helpers and government.

Upcoming Reminders:
*Math Night is on 10/18 at 6:30PM
*Stand up Against Bullying by wearing orange on 10/19! (Non-uniform day)
*No School on 10/20 and 10/21 (Faculty Workshops)

*Halloween costume day is 10/31- Parents are invited to Anderson Gym to enjoy the costume parade. Classroom parties will follow the parade (more information to come).
